The Story

Alan Tang is a man from Singapore who is attending college in Taipei when he meets a beautiful girl played by Joan Lin. Tang works as an auto repair technician and unknowingly gets in trouble with Lin's father when they have a run-in over replacing a tire. Because of this and Tang's lowly status, Lin's dad tries to break them up by introducing Lin to a friend's son. When Lin tries to date the other guy played by Lee Tao Hung, Tang follows them around, being generally a pain.

Tang's beautiful cousin, played by Deng Mei Fang, arrives and when Tang takes her out to dinner, Lin sees them and misunderstands their relationship. Lin and Tang's rival Lee continue to date, including rowing a boat on a lake. The boat tips over and Lee swims off leaving Lin to drown. Lee and his mother go to tell Lin's parents about the accident and are surprised when Lin shows up alive. Needless to say this ends their relationship.

WARNING CONCLUSION: In the final scenes, Lin's father's big boss arrives and when they go to meet him, he turns out to be Alan Tang's father. Tang takes his father to Lin's house so he can meet her and approve. Tang and Lin appear to be very happy and on the way to the alter.
