PRIVATE LIFE AKA MISS HONG KONG

Alan Tang starred in the romantic drama Miss Hong Kong also called Private Life in 1987. The movie was supervised by Alan Tang and made by his Wing Scope Production, Ltd. company. Special thanks to Alan Tang fan Irene for help with the plot details.

The Story

Alan Tang is a wealthy, successful businessman as a result of his marriage to Jenny Tseng. He works in her father's business, runs for and wins political office and seems to have it made except for the fact that Jenny is a bitch.

Joey Wong wins the title of Miss Hong Kong and uses it to become a high priced prostitute. She does this to support her family, and when visiting a client in Singapore meets Tang. Tang has no idea about her profession and they become lovers. Tang's wife finds out and tries to break them up by plotting with Joey's pimp. Tang finds out about Joey's profession and is very upset but decides to leave his wife anyway. In addition, Joey is arrested for murder when one of her clients is found dead.

WARNING CONCLUSION: Joey goes on trial for murder but is released when Tang tricks his wife Jenny into telling the court that the private detective she hired saw Tang and Joey together on the beach at the time the man was killed. It turns out that the killer was Joey's pimp. He is killed when he tries to run away. Tang signs divorce papers and gives up everything he owns to be with Joey. The pair walk off happily as in the picture at the top.
