THE GOLDEN KEY Alan Tang made The Golden Key for the Lo Uki Motion Picture Company, LTD. in 1978. It is an action crime drama with Tang playing an interpol agent on vacation who interacts with many ladies in the James Bond style. The CastAlan Tang Kwong Wing The Producer Hsu Li Hwa The Executive Producer Lo Wei The Story Alan Tang is an interpol agent on vacation in Hong Kong visiting his friend who runs a detective agency. The detective is helping a woman agent who is using a secret list of names to extort black mail payments from a group of gangsters. When his detective friend and the woman are killed by a car bomb, Tang seeks to find their murderers. In the process he finds the Golden Key and other information that takes him to Thailand.Before he leaves Hong Kong, there are also several interesting Kung Fu fighting sequences. In Thailand, Tang encounters three other ladies, one of whom is the friend of the murdered woman and helps him get information. Another is a singer at the club where the gangsters meet. The third woman, wife of the club owner, seduces Tang in the quest for information. In Thailand, Tang is helped by the Thai undercover agents and police who are interested in catching the gangsters as well. Tang is reluctant to trust them at first but ends up needing their help. At one point he is beaten up and thrown in jail only to be bailed out by the club singer. The final showdown is very elaborate and exciting with lots of gun play and some surprises. |
