In 1989 Alan Tang did a cameo as a demolition expert in the comedy Mr. Sunshine. He wore the outfit pictured above. The cameo lasted only a few minutes and it was not until he removed his headgear that one was aware it was Alan Tang playing the part. He seemed to have a good time doing it.

Alan Tang had a cameo in the 1990 movie Gangland Odyssey which starred Andy Lau and Alex Man. Tang played a handsome older gentleman surrounded by beautiful ladies in a fancy restaurant. He introduced himself to another of the other actors in the movie by his real name, Alan Tang.

Alan Tang had a brief but beautiful cameo in the movie Lam Ah Chun made in the late 1970's. Lam Ah Chun is a comedy which starred Tang's friend Yee Lui. In his cameo Tang does a parody of the romantic and fighting parts for which he was so famous at the time. Tang appeared in a trademark white outfit with the shirt unbuttomed looking gorgeous, handsome, wonderful, sexy (an early Chinese version of Fabio!). He steals away Yee Lui's girlfriend who is, upon close inspection, an elderly lady. Tang hugs and makes love eyes at her. Yee Lui tries to fight him for his "girl". After his trademark shrug and his "do I really have to fight" look, Tang punches Yee out blackening both eyes. Tang then picks up the "girl" and walks off into the woods with her. A brief but memorable cameo.

Alan Tang presented an award along with Gong Li at the 1989 Hong Kong Film Awards.
